WORKING WITH THE BREEDING MANAGER, YOU WILL BE HANDLING MARES AND FOALS AND PROVIDING HANDS-ON FOALING ASSISTANCE AND NEONATE CARE.
DUTIES:
- Monitoring pregnant mares, providing nighttime foaling assistance
and identifying potential threats to mare and foal welfare - Administering neonate foal care and treatments as needed
- Assisting breeding manager/veterinarian with reproductive
procedures and foal health care - Administering medication and basic veterinary procedures to
broodmares as instructed - Transportation of horses
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in general horse handling required, experience with foal
care and handling preferred - Valid driver license and good driving record required
STALLION COLLECTION LAB TECH & ASSISTANT
ALONG WITH THE STALLION MANAGERS AND OWNERS, YOU WILL BE HANDLING OR WORKING AROUND HIGH-PROFILE BREEDING STALLIONS.
DUTIES:
- Assisting with stallion collection
- Assisting with the preparation/evaluation of semen for shipments
- Assisting with semen freezing process
- Maintaining nitrogen storage tanks and frozen semen inventory
- Preparing/transferring frozen semen
- Occasional basic herd health management
- Seasonal sales fitting of mares, foals, and yearlings
REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic computer skills
- Experience in general horse handling required
- Experience working in a lab setting and with handling stallions preferred
HERD HEALTH MANAGEMENT/BREEDING ASSISTANT
WORKING WITH THE BREEDING MANAGER, YOU WILL BE HANDLING THE BROODMARES AND THEIR OFFSPRING
DUTIES:
- Assisting veterinarian with reproductive procedures
- Assisting breeding manager with reproductive procedures
- Assisting farrier
- Assisting with foaling out mares
- Herd Heath Management
- Grooming and basic care of herd
- Administer daily medication and basic veterinary treatments
- Transportation of horses
- Seasonal sales fitting of mares, foals, and yearlings
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in general horse handling required
- Basic computer skills
- Valid driver license and good driving record required
